PLACE A COMMISSION
I encourage anyone who wants an original motorsport or automotive painting to place a commission. There is no price difference between an already-completed painting (such as those in this portfolio) and a commissioned painting. The advantage of commissioning your own piece is that you get to decide exactly what you want. You choose the composition and the size.
THE PROCESS
When placing your commission, you start by choosing the subject. For example, you might have a favourite car or a favourite rider or driver. If you have already chosen an image, then most of your decision is made. However, if you want me to make suggestions for the composition, I will gladly do so. I will send a number of choices until you find one that you are happy with. We will then agree on the size of the painting which will determine the cost of the painting. Shipping is included. I will let you know the timetable for completion and delivery of the painting. This will depend on the amount of commissions that are already waiting to be done. Once we have reached an agreement on the composition, size, time for completion and cost, a 25% down-payment is made. As the painting progresses I can send photos if requested. When it is completed, I'll send a detailed scan of the painting. Upon your approval, you make the final payment and I send the painting via Fedex or UPS.
COST
The price for these paintings is generally in the range of US$2,000 to US$3,000, although this may vary more or less depending on the size and complexity of the painting. These paintings are shipped on rolled canvas, not stretched or framed.
PAYMENT
I accept payment by Paypal or by wire transfer. The details of these are shared when an agreement for sale or commission is made.
REPRODUCTIONS
I don't usually produce reproductions or prints of my work in this genre, however I can give consent for that to be done. This would require an arrangement to be made whereby (1) I would retain partial rights to the work so that I would get a commission per sale or (2) I would sell the copyright for an amount mutually agreed upon. For example, if you commission a painting and you also want to have the right to reproduce it, we would agree on a total price based on the cost of the painting + some percentage of projected sales. In special cases, I may be willing to do a painting, keep the painting but sell the rights to the digital image for reproduction.
